Finished Wine Evaluation Sheet


This Evaluation Sheet is our unique take on a rapid sensory assessment that combines both organoleptic and enological analysis. Here are the key takeaways:

  • Each printout has space for four wines and contains four main sections: Aroma, Taste/Body, Tactile, and Holistic. These represent the components of flavor (aroma + taste) and mouthfeel (body + tactile) in wine.
  • Each component in each section has been carefully selected to capture the broader style of the wine and understand how it was made. The space below the sections for analytical data input generally correspond to each component. For example: Structure correlates to tannin concentration (pTAN)
  • By default, every parameter starts at zero, indicating a "balanced" wine.
  • Evaluators using the sheet can simply mark whichever parameter seems out of balance to characterize the broader style of the wine.
  • There is also a space below to note specific details and a “rating” and “ranking” section to to provide a score and select a favorite respectively.
