Château Branaire-Ducru is a fourth growth wine estate based in the Saint-Julien appellation/Haut-Médoc region.
Vintage:

Blend: 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, 4% Cabernet Franc

Region: Saint-Julien, Bordeaux, France

Interpretation: Merlot is often referred to as a great blending agent for its middle palate. Through phenolics, we can understand that the middle palate corresponds to a higher bANT:pTAN ratio. This is easier to achieve with high-color varietals like Merlot that don't always produce the most tannin.

Bordeaux

Bordeaux, France, is a world-renowned wine region known for its exceptional red blends, particularly Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, thriving in its mild maritime climate and diverse soils surrounding the Gironde Estuary. Historically, it marks the northernmost point for growing Cabernet Sauvignon, benefiting from centuries of trade access that established its global reputation for quality.
